Welcome to our Lower School London Landmarks Project website!

London Landmarks is a cross-curricular project for boys in Years 3 and 4. It will involve our 200 boys from ten classes within the Lower
School during a three day period immediately before half-term.

The project is multi-disciplinary and includes elements of: English, Photography, Design Technology, Textiles, Art and Craft, Geography,
Architecture, Research, History, ICT, Film-making, Science and Mathematics.

This website will enable parents and boys to see examples of activities which take place during the three days and will serve as a
permanent record of the project.A London Landmarks’ booklet will be produced as a record for each boy.In addition, work will be displayed in the Lower School Art Room on Open Day in December 2004.

Through this project we aim to raise the boys’ awareness of Architecture in general and London Architecture specifically.

We are grateful to parents for supporting this project by taking their sons to visit the landmarks where possible, supplying cameras and film and for encouraging interest before the project commences.

We invite parents, boys and other family members to contribute their accounts and experiences of visits to Landmarks. These may be typed in to our ‘Message Board’ and will be available for all to read. Please do contribute by emailing your story to nc@dcpslondon.org!

In the words of Daniel Liebeskind, “A good building is like frozen music!” Let the music commence!

We hope that you enjoy reading about our project!
